When arriving by car:
Irrespective which direction you come from, drive to the small inner ring of Brussels. At Place Rogier, take Boulevard Adolphe Max. As of June 2015, the Place de Brouckère is a pedestrian zone. It is however surrounded by several paying public parkings, for instance 'Monnaie' ('Munt') or 'De Brouckère'.
When arriving by train:
From Brussels Central Station, Brussels South (Midi/Zuid) Station or Brussels North Station.
From Brussels Central Station:
Take the subway at the railway station (direction line 1 West-station/Gare-de-l'Ouest, or line 5 Erasmus/Erasme). Get off at 'De Brouckère' (first stop), and you are in front of the Hotel Métropole.
You can also walk. It is healthy, pleasant (when it doesn’t rain) , it takes only about 10 minutes and ….it is for free !
From Brussels South (Midi/Zuid) Station:
This is the most frequent and convenient station when arriving with international trains, especially the Thalys or Eurostar. Take the tram 3 or 4 direction Esplanade and get off at the stop 'De Brouckère' (approximately 7 minutes).
From Brussels North Station:
Walk out of the station, take the Tram 81. Get off at 'De Brouckère'. You are at 2 minutes walking distance from the Institute.
PS : Price of a ticket ´bus/tram/metro' is 2,10€. The ticket is valid during 60 minutes. A card for 5 trips is 8€, 10 trips is 14€.
When arriving by plane :
You can take a taxi straight to the Institute. Price : approx. 45€.
You can take the Airport Express train which runs every twenty minutes from the airport to the North, Central, or South-Midi Station. It is a 20 minutes’ trip and the cost of the ticket is 8.50 € (2nd class).
