BACKGROUND

In connection with the EFA 2013 Annual Meeting, a one-day EFA Doctoral Tutorial will be organized on Wednesday, August 28th, 2013, by co-chairs Loriana Pelizzon (Universita Ca’Foscari, Venice), and Frans de Roon (Tilburg University), with the generous support of the NASDAQ-OMX Education Foundation, the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA), and the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM).

PARTICIPANTS

The EFA Doctoral Tutorial is held in a collaborative, open and friendly atmosphere. The selected papers will be distributed well in advance to facilitate lively discussions and questions from student and faculty participants alike. To enhance the collegiality of the tutorial, participants are expected to attend the entire event. In addition, a student whose paper is accepted for the Doctoral Tutorial is also expected to serve as a discussant for one of the other papers. All participants will receive a certificate of participation. There will be a welcome dinner organised for participants of the EFA Doctoral Tutorial the evening before the event (i.e., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 - 19:00 Drinks for 19:30 Dinner). It will be held at Peterhouse Upper Hall [Peterhouse • Cambridge • CB2 1RD].

BEST EFA DOCTORAL TUTORIAL PAPER PRIZES

The best paper presented at the 2013 EFA Doctoral Tutorial will be recognized with the Best PhD Tutorial Paper prize sponsored by the NASDAQ-OMX Education Foundation. In addition, one of the presenters will be invited to present his/her work at the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA) Fall Conference 2013 to be held in Chicago September 11-12, 2013.
