The spirit and “tradition” of this workshop series is to focus on discussing and communicating with one another in smaller groups. Finished papers and preliminary concepts for research can be discussed with fellow scholars and the academia. The workshop continues the previous successful meetings held in Ferrara (2005 and 2007), Maastricht (2006) and Hasselt (2008).
All submissions of papers dealing with visualising, measuring and managing intangibles and intellectual capital from a variety of theories, practices and research methods are welcome.
The focus of workshop is on communicating between disciplines and combining different views from accounting, marketing, technology and innovation management, communications, strategic management and other disciplines.

- The role of intangibles in marketing and their relevance for customers

- Management practices for IC in different regions and areas around the world
- IC statements and their organisational, managerial and strategic roles in companies and organizations
- The relevance of intangibles for value creation in both profit and not-for-profit organizations (e.g. local authorities; museums, universities and research institutions, meso-entities)
- Modelling, measuring, ands management of risks associated with intangible assets
- Measuring and managing intangibles in SMEs
- Interactions between different functions of management like accounting, finance, organisation, management, and policy making in practice
- Technology and information systems for IC
- Shortcomings and challenges of research concepts and methods
- Critical case studies and field research on the theory-practice relationships in implementations of IC management
- Mutual expectations of researchers and practitioners on IC management
- Role of social sciences and other disciplines in the research on intangibles
