BACKGROUND

The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) and the European Finance Association (EFA) will jointly organise, as it is now customary, a Tutorial for PhD students as part of the 33rd EFA Annual Meeting. It will take place on August 23 (Wednesday), 2006 starting at 9.30 a.m.

The EFA Doctoral Tutorial 2006 will be chaired by Bruno GERARD (Mellon Capital Management) and Frans DE ROON (Tilburg University).

Outstanding PhD students will have the opportunity to discuss their dissertation research with other doctoral students and leading academics in the field of finance.

The best tutorial paper will receive the "Inquire best paper award", which is awarded by Inquire Europe and Inquire UK together.

CALL FOR PAPERS

We encourage PhD students to submit well-defined and detailed research proposals or preliminary drafts for one of their PhD essays that can already be submitted in a paper-format. They are welcome to add an additional page raising the conceptual and methodological problems they face with the current status of their dissertations, which they would like to discuss during the tutorial. Preference will be shown for single authored work that is substantially advanced but not fully completed. All topics and methodological approaches within the broad field of finance will be considered.

The submission deadline is over.
Notification of acceptance of the papers will be given towards June 1, 2006.

Submission guidelines

Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be considered. To create universally portable PDF files use the Fastlane protocol. Please click here for detailed technical instructions on the Fastlane Protocol.

The submission should include the full content of your research document without any identifying details as author names, affiliation or acknowledgements. You will be asked to provide your name, affiliation, co-authors, paper abstract as well as your CV in the submission application form. The submissions will be evaluated blindly by the tutorial faculty.

Although students can submit to both the main conference and the tutorial, papers accepted for the main conference will be automatically disqualified for inclusion in the tutorial. In case you also submitted your paper to the EFA 33rd Annual Meeting, please indicate below the title of your paper in the submission form : "also submitted to the EFA Conference".
