WELCOME TO LUXEMBOURG

Positioned at the heart of Europe, Luxembourg is a small yet fascinating country that seamlessly blends rich history with modernity. Nestled between Belgium, France, and Germany, it offers beautiful natural landscapes, fairy-tale castles, and underground tunnels, while also standing as a powerhouse for finance, sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Luxembourg is also a key political center within the European Union.

Historical heritage

Since 1994, Luxembourg's old city and strongholds have held the distinction of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The country has over 50 beautiful castles, with Vianden Castle standing out as one of the largest and most exquisite feudal residences from the Romanesque and Gothic periods in Europe. Hosting medieval festivals, it is also adjacent to a house where Victor Hugo lived.

One of the founding members of the UN and EU

Luxembourg has played a significant role in major world initiatives, including the United Nations, Schengen area, and European Union. The nation hosts pivotal political offices, such as the European Parliament's Secretariat and the Court of Justice of the European Union. There is also a museum dedicated to the Schengen Agreement, located in Luxembourg next to the Moselle River where the agreement was signed in 1985.

Multicultural and multilingual country

Luxembourg takes pride in its openness and cultural diversity, with half of its population consisting of foreign nationals from various countries, including Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and others. Additionally, around 2% of the population comes from non-EU countries. The nation embraces three official languages: French, German, and Luxembourgish.

Luxembourgish is has strong influences from French and German, and also borrows words directly from its neighboring country such as “merci” (“thank you” in French) and “wissenschaftler” (“scientist” in German). But the main word to remember is Moien, (“Hello”).

Attractive for talents

From a Talent Management perspective, Luxembourg is ranked the 2nd most attractive country in the world for talents, according to the IMD World Talent Ranking 2023. In 2023, Luxembourg was also ranked the 9th happiest country in the world. This achievement is primarily attributed to the country's strong economic performance (one the of highest GDP per capita), safety (2nd safest country globally), social support, freedom to make decision and other aspects (2023 World Happiness Report).

Join us to visit the only Grand Duchy in the world, and delve into its rich tapestry of history, culture, and economic vibrancy at the Talent Management Workshop!
