OBJECTIVES

This workshop was created over thirty years ago to exchange qualitative, quantitative, and theoretical research in all areas of strategic human resource management.  Since the early days these have grown tremendously to include nearly all areas of organisation life including:  employee engagement, the digital transformation of HRM functions, employee data privacy, and the ethical issues related to AI and machine learning to manage recruitment, selection, performance monitoring, compensation, learning, and engagement. With the digital generation entering the labour market, new HRM approaches and strategies need to be implemented.  A special feature of the workshop are invitations extended to high-level HRM executives to share the concerns of the corporate world with our participants.  This helps create a rich exchange that can guide our research so that it is relevant and useful to HRM professionals.

Our workshop accepts papers in all stages of development (dissertation proposals, research in progress, and completed research) and we occasionally collect the best of these for a special issue in a reputable journal.  The last special issue will be published (June 2021) as a book by Routledge - Taylor & Francis Group titled, International Perspectives on Employee Engagement.
