The EFA / EIASM Doctoral Tutorial (EFA-DT) is held in a collaborative, open and friendly atmosphere. The eight papers selected for the EFA-DT are distributed well in advance to facilitate lively discussions, questions and feedback from student and faculty participants alike. To enhance the collegiality of this EFA doctoral event, EFA-DT participants are expected to be there for the entire session (Wednesday) – and are invited to a networking welcome dinner (sponsored by the Nasdaq Educational Foundation) held the evening before (Tuesday). Furthermore, a student whose paper is accepted for presentation at the EFA Doctoral Tutorial is also required to serve as a discussant for one of the other papers (and must prepare for this in advance). EFA-DT student presenters each receive a certificate of participation after the event, and a stipend of €1,000 EUR (intended to cover registration to the EFA Annual Meeting and assist with travel expenses). EFA-DT faculty participants (including co-chairs) each receive a small honorarium after the event, as a token of EFA's great appreciation for their selfless contributions of time and expertise in support of this educational EFA doctoral event.
The best paper presented at the 2018 EFA-DT will be recognized with the Best EFA Doctoral Tutorial Paper Prize, sponsored jointly by the Nasdaq Educational Foundation & CQA. In addition to the money prize (offered by Nasdaq), the winning author will be invited to present the winning paper at this year's Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA) Fall Conference, to be held in Chicago, USA, September 19-20, 2018.
