PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The 2nd Applied Economics and Management (AEM) and Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) PhD Programs - Joint Paper Development Workshop is an opportunity for PhD students and young scholars to present their research and discuss it in an international and collaborative environment. In addition to facilitating intellectual exchange, this program supports the development of a global network of young researchers interested in entrepreneurship, innovation, international entrepreneurship and family business. Together with feedbacks on their own research ideas, participants will also obtain insights on the writing of publishable journal papers, selection of research methods, as well as presenting research to academic audience.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

TARGET GROUP AND ELIGIBILITY

The target group of the workshop is represented PhD students and young scholars who aim at a continued academic career in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, and international entrepreneurship.

 

APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants are requested to email a CV and an extended essay (max. 4,000 words) or full paper (paper should not exceed 30 pages including figures and bibliography – please use Times Roman 12 font and double-line spacing) – for distribution to discussants and workshop participants.

Powerpoint presentations for the tutorial should consist of a maximum of 10 slides for a 15 minutes presentation.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Participants will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Relevance of the research issues addressed
  • Theoretical/methodological rigor
  • Clarity of essay
  • Potential contribution

WORKSHOP FORMAT

All participants present a research study during the workshop. Each participant is assigned a slot of 30 minutes: 15 minutes for presentation followed by 10 minutes for discussant and 5 minutes for feedback from the audience.

PhD student’s presentations will alternate with keynote speeches (45 minutes each including Q&As).

 

PROGRAMME & FEES

The workshop starts at 10.30 on June 13rd and ends at 16.00 on June 14th.

There is no registration fee.
